The ten-day festival begins every year on Medom 1 of the Malayalam calendar and attracts a large number of devotees from different places. One of the main highlights of the festival is the famous Pallivilakku ceremony held on the morning of the tenth day, which is especially significant for its unique traditional lighting ritual. The temple is widely recognized for its massive wooden Pallivilakku structures, including two impressive lamps reaching around 40 feet in height, which are illuminated with Lakshadeepam. These royal-style wooden lighting structures, crafted many years ago, are designed to hold a large number of oil lamps, symbolizing devotion and spiritual tradition. The grand illumination of thousands of lamps during the festival creates a remarkable visual experience and reflects the deep cultural heritage associated with the Pathamudayam celebration.
