Manarcad Perunnal

This annual eight-day festival culminates in the famous Rassa (procession) on September 6th at 2 p.m., featuring gold/silver crosses and thousands of Muthukudas (ornamental umbrellas).

• The festival commemorates the birth of the Virgin Mary, known as the Ettunombu Perunnal, drawing vast crowds for prayer and fasting.

• Scheduled for September 6th (usually), this is a major procession featuring colorful umbrellas and traditional music.

• Manarcad Carnival is scheduled to take place from April 29 to May 4, 2026.
