Puthari Thiruvappana

The temple and premises are beautifully decorated. There are special poojas and offering on the starting day of the festival. From the first day evening onwards, ritualistic vellattu ( a form of theyyam, not actual one ) take place which lasts till second day morning. Gulikan, vellattu, muthappan vellattu etc are held. Second day "Thiruvappana " is performed as an offering to muthappan. It is a beautiful art form. Thalapoli is a ritualistic procession of women and young girls holding thalams with flowers and lighted lamp in there hands. After thalapoli, thira ( actual theyyam ) starts which lasts until next day morning.These are the major events associated with this festival.
